For Shopify merchants, the WEARFITS: Shoes Try‑On app provides one of the easiest ways to add virtual shoe try-on to an online store. No previous 3D modeling knowledge is required, and most of the setup is handled directly inside Shopify.
Begin by finding WEARFITS in the Shopify App Store and installing the application. Once it is connected to your store, open the app and follow the onboarding process. Selecting “Show me how it works” gives you an introduction to the virtual try-on experience and demonstrates how the feature can appear to shoppers on your storefront.
Next, choose the footwear products you want to make available for AR try-on. Products can be selected by category, product type, or individually. This makes it possible to start with a small test group rather than immediately converting your entire catalog.
After selecting your products, open the Shopify Theme Editor. From there, you can decide whether the virtual try-on button should appear on individual product detail pages.
The next step is choosing a subscription. WEARFITS offers different plans ranging from a free demonstration option to higher commercial tiers. For businesses that want to evaluate the technology with meaningful customer traffic, the Silver plan is a practical option for testing virtual try-on at commercial scale.

To begin, visit dash.wearfits.com, enter your business email address, and request access. WEARFITS sends a secure sign-in link to your inbox. If the email is not visible, it is worth checking your spam or junk folder.
During your first login, you will be asked to select the type of experience you want to create. Choose “Shoes and Bags” to access the augmented reality tools designed for footwear and accessories.
The Free Plan provides an easy way to explore the platform. It includes one active API key, support for up to 10 products, and as many as 500 virtual try-on sessions.
Inside the Tools and Resources area, there are two primary methods for creating try-on ready shoe models.
If your company already works with a 3D designer or has digital product assets available, you can upload them directly to WEARFITS.
The platform supports widely used 3D formats such as GLB and OBJ. Simply drag and drop your file into the uploader and choose “Use as shoe tryon.”
WEARFITS then prepares the model for an augmented reality footwear experience and adds it as a try-on object. A live preview allows you to immediately check how the digital shoe appears on a user's foot.

Brands without existing 3D files can use the WEARFITS Photo-to-3D converter. This tool transforms standard product photography into interactive 3D shoe models suitable for virtual try-on.
For the best result, upload between three and six photographs of the shoe. Providing additional angles gives the AI more visual information and generally helps improve model accuracy.
Photography quality is also important. The shoe should be clearly visible from several perspectives, with soft and diffused lighting. Try to keep the lighting consistent around the entire product. Sharp images, clean backgrounds, and even illumination make it easier for the system to recreate the shoe's shape, materials, and proportions.
After uploading the images, choose “Shoe” as the product type and click “Generate AR Tryon.” WEARFITS will process the photos and create an interactive model that can be used in an augmented reality experience.
Before publishing a generated model, it is a good idea to review how it behaves during virtual try-on.
If the model requires professional correction, WEARFITS provides a “Request Enhancement” option. This sends the asset to the design team for manual optimization and polishing.
Many adjustments can also be made directly inside the built-in Try-On Shoe Editor. WEARFITS automatically positions the shoe and creates an occluder for the model.
An occluder acts as an intelligent visual mask. It determines which parts of the 3D shoe should be hidden behind the shopper's real foot, leg, or clothing. For example, if someone is wearing long trousers, the correct masking can make portions of the digital shoe appear naturally underneath the trouser leg rather than unrealistically floating on top of it.
Users can manually adjust both the shoe position and the occluder boundaries. On macOS, hold the Option key while using the mouse. On Windows, use the Alt key to make detailed positioning and alignment changes.
After reviewing and saving your model, WEARFITS can generate direct experience links and QR codes. These can be added to e-commerce pages, marketing materials, or even printed displays inside physical stores, giving customers another way to access interactive shoe try-on experiences.
Businesses managing larger product catalogs can also automate the process through the WEARFITS API. A secure API key can be generated from the SaaS Dashboard, allowing virtual try-on functionality to be integrated into an existing website, e-commerce platform, or custom digital infrastructure.
