WEARFITS Introduces Virtual Try-On for High Heels
At WEARFITS, we see the future of online fashion retail emerging where advanced technology meets responsible consumption. We are excited to share a new partnership that reflects this belief: the launch of the WEARFITS Shoe AR Try-On experience in the Nuvah.in online store.
Nuvah is more than a footwear label. It is a brand built around the idea of “confidence without compromise.” Designed and made in India using 100% vegan materials, Nuvah creates shoes intended to support everyday life rather than simply look attractive in photographs. With the addition of our Shopify-native virtual try-on technology, the brand is moving closer to connecting the convenience of online shopping with the confidence of an in-store fitting experience.
Engineering Meets Innovation
The collaboration between WEARFITS and Nuvah is grounded in a shared dedication to engineering. Nuvah was founded by an engineer who recognized that fashionable footwear often requires women to sacrifice comfort—an accepted trade-off she decided to challenge. Every element of a Nuvah heel, from sole structure and heel-to-arch weight distribution to cushioning density, is carefully developed to deliver stability, comfort, and long-lasting wear.
At WEARFITS, we apply the same engineering mindset to the digital customer journey. Our solution is not a simple overlay that places a flat image on the user’s feet. We have spent years developing an AI-powered pipeline capable of creating realistic 3D footwear models from standard product photographs. For Nuvah, this means that its precisely designed heels can now be presented as photorealistic digital twins that shoppers can virtually wear through their smartphone cameras.
A Digital Fitting Room for Today’s Shopper
Buying shoes online has always involved uncertainty. Customers frequently ask themselves, “What will this pair actually look like on my feet?” Standard image galleries can provide useful details, but they still require shoppers to imagine the final result. That uncertainty contributes to abandoned carts and to return rates in the footwear category, which average approximately 18%.
With WEARFITS integrated into its store, Nuvah can now provide customers with a digital fitting room directly on the product page. The journey is simple:
A shopper opens a Nuvah product page on a mobile device.
They select the “Virtual fit check” button.
The phone camera activates, and the selected shoe appears on their feet in real time through augmented reality.
Scalable Technology: 8 SKUs and Beyond
The virtual try-on experience is currently available for eight selected SKUs in the Nuvah store. Customers can explore several designs digitally, including the brand’s recognizable kitten heels and wedge styles. The first launch also demonstrates the flexibility of the WEARFITS platform, which can support a broad range of footwear categories, from open sandals to more formal shoes.
Our work with Nuvah included much more than adding a try-on button. The implementation covered:
2D-to-3D Model Creation: We converted Nuvah’s existing product images into interactive 3D assets, removing the need for costly additional photography sessions or specialized CAD files.
3D Model Refinement: Each model was carefully adjusted so that the virtual version accurately represents the shape, details, materials, and craftsmanship of the physical product.
Shopify Integration: The WEARFITS app was introduced within Nuvah’s current Shopify workflow, allowing a standard installation without requiring changes to the store theme.
Sustainability: Vegan Materials and Fewer Returns
Nuvah’s promise to remain “vegan, always” and to create products “designed to last, not to landfill” is closely connected to the sustainability advantages of virtual try-on. One of the most significant environmental challenges in e-commerce is reverse logistics—the transport, handling, and packaging involved when purchased products are returned.
When customers use virtual try-on to assess a style before completing an order, they can make a more informed decision. As a result, returns caused by a visual mismatch between expectation and reality may fall by as much as 25%.
By enabling Nuvah shoppers to evaluate products more confidently before purchasing, WEARFITS contributes to a more thoughtful fashion model based on choosing fewer, higher-quality items.
Serving India’s Mobile-First Market
India is among the world’s fastest-growing mobile-first e-commerce markets and accounts for around 4.3% of Shopify footwear stores worldwide. For Nuvah, a company proudly “made in India and for India,” making the online experience widely accessible is essential.
WEARFITS technology is designed to operate not only on premium iPhones, but also on the mid-range Android smartphones used by a large share of consumers. This broad device compatibility helps ensure that Nuvah’s advanced virtual shopping experience can be enjoyed by its wider community, regardless of the phone they own.
The Future of the Partnership
At WEARFITS, we are proud to help Nuvah pursue its goal of giving Indian women heels they can rely on—footwear designed to support their daily lives instead of limiting them. By bringing together ethical production, thoughtful engineering, and modern digital tools, Nuvah is helping establish a new benchmark for footwear e-commerce in India.
